NPLQ Qualified Lifeguard

Responsible To: Splashdown Quaywest Waterpark Managers/Supervisors

SEASONAL ROLE

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The EssentialsCertification: You must hold a current RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and keep it valid through monthly training 

• Language: High proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory for safety and communication 
• Fitness: You need to be a strong, confident swimmer with good vision, hearing, and general physical fitness 

Expectations

• Professionalism: Punctuality and reliability is huge. You’ll need to be in uniform, alert, ability to stay focused on the water and ignore distractions
• Soft Skills: Mature and calm. You need to be firm with the rules but approachable and courteous to guests 
• Schedule: Expect varying shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays - this is a seasonal role

Key Responsibilities

Proactive Safety: Preventing accidents before they happen by identifying risks early 

• Emergency Response: Quickly executing rescues and providing immediate first aid when necessary 
• Crowd Control: Keeping busy customer areas in order and safe. Educating the public on safety rules - friendly but firm

You are expected to carry out any reasonable task asked of you by a Supervisor or Manager. There's plenty of variety to keep everyone busy.
