Leisure Assistant/Slide Guard

Responsible To: Splashdown Quaywest Waterpark Managers/Supervisors

SEASONAL ROLE

Leisure Attendants are essential team members primarily trained to manage ride queues and equipment, and ensure our facilities remain pristine. We are looking for reliable individuals with excellent timekeeping who are naturally friendly and approachable. You must be able to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with both colleagues and guests.

Hours: Varying shift patterns are available; these will include weekends, evenings, and Bank Holidays.

You will support the Lifeguard team in maintaining a safe, disciplined, and welcoming environment. You will play a key role in ensuring guests follow safety guidelines so that everyone enjoys a fun day out. Additionally, you will uphold high standards of hygiene and park maintenance through proactive cleaning and care of the facilities.

Candidate Requirements:

• Health & Fitness: A reasonable level of fitness is required, including good vision and hearing.
• Attributes: You should be honest, mentally alert, numerate, and well-organised.
• Communication: Good spoken English is essential for guest safety and effective teamwork.
• Versatility: You will be trained as both a Leisure Attendant and a Slide Guard, and you will be expected to move between these roles as directed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The image you project is vital to the success of Splashdown Quaywest. All staff are expected to:

• Look and behave in a professional, professional manner.
• Be clean, neat, and tidy in the correct uniform provided.
• Be punctual and reliable for all allocated shifts.
• Remain alert at all times when on duty.
• Be courteous to customers and staff members at all times.

Specific Tasks:

• Queue Management: Managing the flow of riders and the distribution of tyres/tubes.
• Safety Enforcement: Educating guests on slide safety and park rules.
• Park Presentation: Maintaining hygiene through litter picking, emptying bins, and cleaning changing rooms and toilets.
• Team Support: Assisting lifeguards in maintaining a disciplined but relaxed environment.
• Flexibility: Carrying out any reasonable task requested by a Supervisor or Manager.
